Natural Resource Policy Advising

Ecolution offers natural resource policy advising informed by extensive experience in state and regional governance. Services include policy analysis, technical review, strategic advising, and facilitation, helping clients navigate complex regulatory and funding environments while balancing ecological goals, stakeholder interests, and practical implementation.

Salmon Recovery Funding Board – Monitoring Panel

Dr. Tyler chaired the SRFB Monitoring Panel, which evaluates the effectiveness of monitoring programs associated with SRFB-funded restoration and acquisition projects. She authored annual synthesis reports summarizing monitoring results and providing insight into the performance of statewide habitat restoration investments.

Office of Washington Governor Christine Gregoire

Dr. Tyler assisted the Governor’s Office of Management Accountability and Performance in revising performance measures for state natural resource agencies. The work involved coordination with eleven agencies to refine existing metrics and develop new measures aligned with the Governor’s natural resource priorities.

Salmon Recovery Funding Board – Technical Review Panel

Dr. Tyler has served on the Salmon Recovery Funding Board Technical Review Panel since 2013. The panel collectively evaluates the scientific and technical merit of approximately 200 habitat restoration projects each year. Dr. Tyler brings specific expertise in riparian and wetland ecology, helping project sponsors strengthen restoration outcomes while advising the Board on funding decisions.

Northwest Power and Conservation Council

Dr. Tyler served as fish and wildlife policy analyst for Washington State representatives on the Northwest Power and Conservation Council. In this role, she provided analysis and policy advice on salmon recovery, monitoring, habitat, and related issues, contributed to regional monitoring frameworks, and served as a liaison among state agencies, tribes, recovery boards, and funded project sponsors.
